Genesis 11:3-5

³ Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and burn them thoroughly.” And they had brick for stone, and they had ^(A)tar for mortar. ⁴ And they said, “Come, let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top ^(B)will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves ^(C)a name, lest we ^(D)be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” ^5 (E)Then Yahweh came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built.
